1) Analysis of possible failures

When the mixer truck is running, there is noise on the rear axle, especially when the speed of the vehicle is changed sharply, the sound is clearer. When abnormal noise occurs, pay attention to its characteristics for diagnosis.

①There is a continuous abnormal noise at the rear axle during the driving of the mixer truck, or there is a rhythmless impact sound, and the sound increases with the increase of vehicle speed

②Rhythmic abnormal noises are emitted from the rear axle during the driving of the mixer truck, and the noise increases with the increase of vehicle speed, especially when the accelerator is added or closed. In severe cases, the rear axle may swing.

③When the mixer truck is running at high speed (approximately 60km/h) and the throttle is closed, there will be abnormal noises at the rear axle and vibrations at the rear axle.

The abnormal sound of the drive axle is not only the noise, but also the increased wear of gears and other parts, and seriously affects the normal driving of the vehicle. Therefore, you should pay attention to inspection and monitoring during driving, and remove the fault in time.

2) Analysis of the cause of the failure

①The backlash of each gear in the drive axle is too small or too large, the backlash is uneven or the assembly is improper.

②Improper adjustment of gears and bearings or misalignment of bearing seat holes.

③The gear is broken or the bearing is damaged.

④The half-shaft tube is bent and deformed.

3) Diagnosis methods for failure

①If continuous abnormal noise occurs during driving, stop and check. Touch the rear axle housing with your hands. If the heat is not too large, the tooth gap is too small; if the heat is severe, the oil is generally lacking, and the oil level should be checked. Adjust the backlash or add lubricating oil as appropriate.

②If there is a crash during driving, it is generally due to excessive backlash.

③If the speed is higher, the noise will be louder, and the noise will decrease or disappear when coasting. Generally, the bearing is worn or the backlash is abnormal. If the vehicle speed is changed sharply or there is abnormal noise when going uphill, the backlash is too large. The bearing should be replaced or the backlash adjusted according to the situation.

④The car makes abnormal noises when turning, or when driving straight at low speed, but it disappears when the vehicle speed increases. Mostly, the meshing gap of the planetary gears of the transmission is too large, or the axle gears and keyways are worn.

⑤Release the throttle when the vehicle speed is close to 60km/h. If you hear abnormal noise and jitter at the rear axle, the axle sleeve is bent and deformed and should be corrected and repaired.

⑥If the rear axle suddenly makes a noise while driving, most of the gear teeth are damaged, stop and check immediately, otherwise the gear will be severely damaged.
