At the beginning of this century, the models that accounted for half of the domestic heavy-duty truck ownership is Steyr. At that time, the wide-body flat-top cab was the main type of long-distance logistics transportation models, which was a model of high comfort for domestic heavy-duty trucks at that time.

However, with the beginning of the era of rapid logistics transportation, domestic trucks urgently need a cab with greater overall comfort as the backbone of market development.

In fact, many card friends know about the use of MAN's cab in the early models of SHACMAN Delong, but the historical origin of this cab has not been known. Next, the card friends understand the development history of the German MAN F2000 cab.

 

History of the MAN F2000 cab

●F8 Series:1968-1986

MAN F8 TRUCK

In 1968, MAN developed the F8 series models based on the Saviem SM series models and began to use them at the time for special-line logistics transportation models. Traditional models were influenced by the manufacturing concept at the time. The customer's choice has a great test on the comfort of long-distance driving of European TIR cross-border transport drivers.

F8 series

n 1979, the F8 had an appearance upgrade. However, the comfort of the cab was still based on the flat roof / day type. However, at the time, many car owners were affected by traffic regulations to modify the high roof cab to improve the comfort of the vehicle. Restrictions on the cost of modification This type of model did not appear as the mainstream.

 

●FX90 Concept type:1979

At the end of the 1970s, German MAN began to make a breakthrough attempt in terms of cab comfort, and launched the FX90, a highly comfortable concept car that defines the future development of commercial vehicles.

This model uses a concept cab based on the F8 series, and has a high-top cab above it, with strip-shaped glass windows at the front to provide better lighting effects for the interior. Because the development of new models requires higher costs, the later upgraded F90 series models officially form the beginning of comfort mass production models.

 

●F90 Series:1986-1996

In 1986, the German MAN was launched. The F90 series models, including headlights, bumpers, and recessed doors, have a lot of improvements over the older generation F8 series models. After all, other European brands at that time have started to launch high-roof cab models, and the day cab + overhead sleeper models introduced by MAN did not serve the needs of the times.

In 1990, the world-famous F90 model officially mass-produced a high-roof sleeper cab, and its emergence is of great significance for breakthrough innovations in the comfort of the new TGX series.

Prior to this, the flat-top models launched by the F90 were still equipped with double-berth cabs. The upper-level sleepers were folded to increase the effective use of indoor space. Even so, the narrow gap between the two-level sleepers was even more cramped.

From the newly-created high-roof cab in 1990, we can see that the distance between the upper and lower berths has increased significantly, ensuring that the upper driver's daily access can be facilitated without affecting the rest of the upper driver. Good lighting effect, and the large-capacity storage grid in the front has already met the needs of TIR long-distance cross-border logistics transportation.

 

●F2000 Series: 1994-2001

In 1994, the F2000 launched an improved version of the model, and in 1998 launched an upgraded version of the F2000 Evolution, in order to welcome the arrival of the new model with the TG series, and make important contributions to the comfort and safety of the Chinese truck cab.

 ●SHACMAN Delong F2000/F3000 series:

In 2003, the emergence of the Steyr upgraded version of Shaanxi Aolong began to promote high comfort high-cab models. In the same year, the appearance of the Delong series opened a new era for the development of the third generation of heavy trucks in China.

In the early days, Deron could choose German MAN F2000 high-roof / flat-roof cab according to customer needs. Later, subject to the constraints of manufacturing cost, Shaanxi Automobile relied on F2000 manufacturing technology to mass produce the same cab.

The F2000 series is still in production today. In addition to being used as an export model, this cab has also been exported as a spare part to the famous Russian truck manufacturer MAZ.

SHACMAN F3000

Delong F3000 series models were launched in 2008. It was launched as a transition product of today's X3000 series models. The upgraded V-shaped center net and strip headlights are in line with the development trend of logistics transportation models.

●SINOTRUK HOWO/HOKA/H7:

Sinotruk HOKA

The three models of Sinotruk HOWO and HOKA / H7 are the products of three different eras in the history of Sinotruk using the cabin of the F2000 series. The main changes are concentrated in the bumper, mid-net and powertrain.


The interior is the same as the F2000 model. In the photos, it can be clearly seen that the nearly flat floor is an important effort for the research and development of the comfort floor cab in China.

Time flies, the main models launched by major manufacturers based on the F2000 series cab have retired to the second tier. It is the emergence of this cab that overcomes the bottleneck of comfort in early Chinese rapid logistics transportation models.
