Joint between saddle and traction pin

The saddle and the traction pin are the key components of the semi-trailer connection. They are subjected to multi-dimensional space moments, alternating loads and dynamic impact forces during the running of the vehicle. The force is complex and the requirements are high.

Before connecting, carefully check whether there is enough grease on the surface of the tractor saddle, whether there are any foreign objects on the traction pin of the semi-trailer and the traction slide to ensure the cleaning of the traction slide.

1. Adjust the support legs so that the semi-trailer traction skateboard is compatible with the height of the traction saddle. Generally, the semi-trailer traction skateboard is 1-3 cm lower than the upper plane center position of the tractor saddle. Be careful not to be too high. Otherwise, not only can it not be connected, but it can also damage the traction seat, the traction pin and related parts.

2. Operate the traction seat lock mechanism to open the lock block to a free state.

3. When the tractor is reversing, the center line of the tractor and semi-trailer is consistent, and the centerline deviation of the two vehicles is limited to 40 mm or less. After the tractor saddle is aligned with the traction pin, the vehicle is slowly reversed until the “beep” sound is heard. When the lock block returns, the tractor and the semi-trailer are successfully pulled.

4. Check if the traction block lock block locks the traction pin and locks it securely.

5. Go ahead with the tractor and check that the connection is good.

Electrical connection between tractor and semi-trailer

1. Connect the two air pipe joints (commonly known as handshakes) on the tractor to the two air pipe joints on the semi-trailer. At this time, the air supply pipeline of the tractor is connected with the air supply pipeline of the semi-trailer, and the control pipeline of the tractor is connected with the control pipeline of the semi-trailer (note the color of the joint: the same hue is installed, and the installation is not reversed).

2. After the gas joints are connected to each other, the semi-trailer airway connection disconnecting switch on the tractor should be unscrewed to make it in a ventilated state. Otherwise, the semi-trailer brake system cannot be supplied with air, and the brake system cannot work.

3. Start the engine, observe the pressure gauge in the cab, and increase the pressure in the tractor and semi-trailer air reservoir to the specified pressure.

4. Check the air circuit for leaks and check if the brake system is working properly.

5. Insert the cable connector of the tractor into the seven-hole socket on the front of the semi-trailer until the card is on the block of the seven-hole latch.

6. Check that the electrodes are well joined and confirm that the lamps such as the sidelights are working properly.
