There are many types of automatic transmissions, electronically controlled mechanical automatic transmission (AMT), dual clutch transmission (DCT or DSG), hydraulic automatic transmission (AT), mechanical stepless automatic transmission (CVT). The structure of these types of gearboxes is different. The trucks are usually AMT gearboxes, and the cars are more of the other three.
